Master Plan + Urban Design + Architectural Design + Research.

After enduring 80 years of social segregation, this project delves into the possibilities of reintegrating the Lepers community into the social fabric of Abo Zaabal, its home. The proposal introduces a fresh urban community, adjacent to the Leper Colony. Within this proposed urban development, the colony assumes a position of influence, offering urban residents space for interaction and medical care.

The primary strategy of the proposal hinges on a research process that identifies the Maw’af (informal Micro-bus Stop) as a potent urban catalyst in Cairo, particularly within the studied area of Abo Zaabal.
